Budi Wangsa Tedy was born and raised in the small and (was) quiet city of Cirebon, West Java, so it's little wonder that he is renowned for his innate sense of style, inspired by the vibrant colors, organic shapes, and lush natural abundance of his homeland.
He has practiced architecture since graduating from Parahyangan Catholic University Bandung in 2001.
After ten years of working on an architecture and construction firm and building his reputation not only as a brilliant architect, but also for delivering exceptional service to his well-heeled clientele, he founded his own firm in Bandung in 2011. Budi partnered with his college friend Felix Christiono, who share the same vision and together they sharpen their skill in architecture industry. This extravaganza bond exploded Budi onto the higher up and bigger architecture projects.
After more than 20 years in bussines, Budi has become especially renowned for his ability to completely transform raw, ordinary shape into fabulous, theatrical space, translating his clients' fantasies into awe-inspiring reality. Not only doing commercial design, Budi always take time to design pro-bono project for community services. Good architecture is meant for everybody privilege anyway, he always said.
Budi's signature style combines exuberant and harmonious color palettes, sensuous textures, shades that are both bright and organic, and modern adaptation of traditional elements to excite the senses in profound ways. Inspired by the simple beauty of the natural world, Budi is known for taking small, simple elements, changing them, reshaping them and repeating them on many layers to create grand, spectacular dramatics statements.
